The King: John P. Stahlman - John P. Stahlman and his lovely Karen began their love affair with Galveston when they first purchased a beach house in 1997. They enjoyed the Galveston lifestyle so much that they found themselves spending more time in Galveston than Houston, so they moved to Galveston full time in 2001.

John and Karen joined the Krewe of Gambrinus in 2002, and immediately saw their few Galveston friends turn into hundreds. Having no children and limited family, the Krewe has become their family, one that party's all year long. John loves to have friends over for barbeque from the grill and Salmon from the smoker. Poolside parties are a favorite, so the new outdoor wet bar is almost ready to open.

John is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington. He started in the steel business after college and his steel career has lasted 35 years so far. John is additionally involved in commercial real estate investments on the island.

John and Karen enjoy the 1894 Grand Opera House and are members of Galveston Country Club where they play golf. John is a director on the board of the Krewe, responsible for Sponsorship Development. His big contribution the exciting new Krewe year is the Links & Luau, which he and Karen chair.

King Gambrinus XIX invites everyone to come to Mardi Gras Galveston and enjoy the parties and the hospitality of Galveston, especially his parade on January 26, 2008 down the famous Seawall Boulevard.

The Queen: Debi Ross - Debi has been a Krewe member for six years. This is her first year to be a part of the Royal Court. Debi is a member of the Krewe's Beads and Means Committee and recently hosted the New Members' Party at her home in Laffites's Cove. Debi is originally from Leesville, LA but has been a Galvestonian for the past 12 years. She assists with her family business, Ross Investments, which was established in 1940. Debi is the proud mother of two sons, Mason, 28, and Tanner, 24, plus four adorable pug dogs.

Debi invites you to embrace the "Spirit of Mardi Gras" by enjoying all of the 2008 Krewe of Gambrinus festivities including the fantastic "Lights up the Night" parade on January 26^th at 6:00 PM.
