Until King Gambrinus Lights Up the Night with his fabulous Procession down Seawall Boulevard.

From a Vision to Reality

From vision to over 25 years of celebration and frivolity supporting the wonderful Island of Galveston, The Krewe of Gambrinus, will continue to parade down famous Seawall Boulevard thrilling 200,000 of our closest friends, and then proceed to the fabulous Strand Entertainment District. The new parade route, instituted in 2014, begins at 57th and Seawall, proceeds to Rosenberg Avenue (25th Street), turns North on Rosenberg to Ship’s Mechanic Row, then enters the Strand Entertainment District and proceeds to the Strand. From that first vision of Larry Del Papa and Budweiser when the Krewe of Brew celebrated the History of Beer, exciting themes and costumes have been the basis of the fabulous parades as King Gambrinus Lights Up the Night. Festivals of the World; The British Isles, Gambrinus Style; Red White and Krewe; Singing in the Rainforests; Waltz Across Texas; Cheers to our Buds, the Del Papas, and The Roaring 20’s. These are but of few of the entertaining backdrops for the Krewe of Gambrinus’ Mardi Gras seasons.

Gambrinus the Krewe, is over 300 members strong and continues to celebrate with an extravagant coronation ball each year. The new King Gambrinus is crowned along with Her Royal Highness the Queen. Each will have found that elusive baby in the King's Cake, and will begin a year of personal Royal recognition and service to the Krewe and to Galveston.
